Taxing car with very old V5

Hello

I have recently been given a car which after a bit of fettling now has a MOT.

First of the month tomorrow and I would like to tax the car.

However the V5 document was about 20 years old and as such it does not have any refferences on the new keepers suppliment to let me tax it online.

Would I be able to use the slip to tax it in a Post office or would they have similar problems!

Don't want to have to wait for new V5 as I could do with using the car next week.
