Speeding 110mph -TT99
Discussion
Last year I got caught speeding on the motorway at 110mph and had to attend court. Had no points and a clean licence at the time.
My penalty was a large fine, two week ban a NO points of which i considered a good result at the time.
After this my licence showed no points and an SP50 speeding code of which I have always declared to my insurance.
I have just gone to renew and an insurer has run a check on my licence and it’s come back with a TT99 code for ‘totting-up’. From a bit of googling the only reason I can find why anyone would get a TT99 is from having 12 points or more and being banned for that.
Is this TT99 endorsement likely to be a dvla mistake or could this have been given for my speeding offence even though I had no points ?

It’s points or a ban, so that isn’t a “good result.”
SP50 is a motorway offence.
TT99 is a totting up disqualification.

My point is how can it be a points ban when I had no points? Is it a mistake or can they give this code for offences other than just totting up?

TT99 is only applied to a totting up disqualification.
I had an incident in 2018 where after going to court and being given 3 points and a fine (when I had no points before) I was told that I had to hand over my license because I was being banned for 'totting up'
I, of course, immediately queried it and after a bit of cocking about the court realised their mistake and got it corrected. Sounds like someone has, to be blunt, f
ked up there!

Most quote comparison websites will ask for details of motoring convictions in the last 5 years. You should of course input the ban details in the drop down menu, next to the conviction code.

.. and when you get your new enhanced quote it won't be such a result after all. Ditto for years to come. Most quote comparison websites will ask for details of motoring convictions in the last 5 years. You should of course input the ban details in the drop down menu, next to the conviction code.

Back in 2010 I got a 5 week ban and no fine for a similar speed to the op on a dual Carriageway .
I was told I had to apply for my licence back but it was delivered to me the very next day by post.
Also the offence code was a SP30 which is a general speeding code. My insurer would not accept this and insisted the courts were wrong. Had quite a heated discussion on the phone so just went to another company which accepted what I was telling them.
Interesting my insurance went down after my ban. Strange.
