I’ve done a few speed awareness courses. They’re quite interesting and I’ve always learned something from them.
Your 25 in a 20 would mean that, if someone ran out in front of you at a given distance, instead of stopping in time, you’d hit them at something like 8mph. It’s 20 for a reason (I guess a school / loads of houses etc).
I kind of think SAC’s should be compulsory for everyone every 10 years or so.

My rudimentary maths tells me if you missed someone by a millimetre doing 20, you'd have hit them at 15mph doing 25. Your 25 in a 20 would mean that, if someone ran out in front of you at a given distance, instead of stopping in time, you’d hit them at something like 8mph.

Near me there's 20 mph zone and the road's full of pedestrians and kids faffing about as if it's a paved area. They don't even look out for cars.Too busy staring at the speedo to have a clue whats happening outside

Plenty in Bristol, in fact our previous home owners got a speeding ticket for doing 27 in a 20 in Bristol

You should move here, every road has been made a 20 indiscriminately, without any rhyme or reason - all widely ignored and rightly so - thankfully not enforced either.Those that do 20 are treated like milk floats and overtaken, occasionally dangerously = 20’s are far more dangerous than the old 30’s

I was knocked over as a kid, not looking properly but my parents and I didn’t moan to the driver it was my fault!
As said in earlier post we will soon need a guy walking in front of us again.
Speed limits are getting slower and slower even though cars have gotten so much safer.

That’s what annoys me about it all, most times it’s the pedestrian at fault for stepping out as not may get knocked over on the pavement. Instead of blaming the motorist take some responsibility when crossing roads.

I had some halfwit on another thread who all but suggested it was my fault I hadn't developed phsysic powers to avoid pedestrians who insist on stepping out without looking.
