Single Justice Procedure Notice for failure to send licence

Hi, my other half has just received a SJPN for a speeding offence because she failed to send in her licence. The problem is she DID send it. I've been doing research online but it's hard to find any specific cases where people did send their licence off. Most of the time they forgot.

Has anyone ever had this happen? Is there anything we can do now the wheels are in motion? We have proof of payment and a photograph of us sending the licence way before the deadline.

This happened to my sister in law, however they sent her a reminder through the post to send her licence, two weeks after she had sent it. She rang them and they asked her if she sent it recorded / special delivery, she said no so they offered her extra time but she had to pay the lost licence fee and apply for a replacement licence.

They normally send a reminder if you've paid the fine but they've not received the licence, was your proof of payment for recorded delivery? as it will have the DVLA postcode on the receipt
