Dutch motorway variable limit gantry cameras

Does anyone know what type of cameras is used on the above?
I was on my motorbike in Amsterdam this weekend and leaving the city went through a few 80 km/h gantries a fair bit over this (nothing ridiculous, like 10 to 20 km/h over). I had a car up my arse and was stupidly forgetting what I knew, that it's now possible for other EU countries to get your details from the DVLA, so decided to get ahead of the car behind me a bit.
I'd be interested to know if (a) they are average speed cameras, (b) if not, if they flash if they catch you (these didn't at all), and (c) if I'm likely to get three separate fines for going through three (maybe two) gantries in succession.
The majority of traffic was going more than 80 km/h through them, so did they in fact know something I don't anyway? I have read that the cameras are not always active.

You don’t say exactly where you were, but from experience, (a colleague, yes genuinely) got done on the A2 going south - the 5 lane bit toward Utrecht - at 108 in the posted 100. There’s not much tolerance in the system. (you get given 3kph for free, after that, it’s a fine)
Whether that’s relevant to where you were, I don’t know, and whether they’re even going to chase it is another matter. I would expect you to know fairly quickly. His transgression was on the Monday morning, and it had gone to the rental agency & then forwarded onto me (as the renter - this is how i know) by the following Saturday.

Thanks! I am actually not quite sure where it was (I had a non-motorway route planned but was delayed leaving so just used sat nav) but I was heading for Hook of Holland so it'll have been either the A4 or A5 west or south-west of Amsterdam.
I was half assuming that all such gantries in Holland use the same-ish type of camera for all motorway variable limit gantries like we do but I know that they've had them longer than us so perhaps there are a variety of types.
These, IIRC, had a mid-grey rectangular camera housing on the back of each variable speed limit sign.

Heading Hoek van Holland from Amsterdam most likely on the A4. They use a mix of cameras some are average speed and some gatso's. The stretch past Schiphol airport has average speed cameras, got done there a few years ago in a rental car doing 4kph over the limit (yes, that's around 2.5mph in a 62mph limit!). As they take the money off the credit card via the hire company there's not much you can do about it.
On the ring road around Amsterdam I think there are average cameras as well as Gatso's. The gatso's flash and I expect you can get done by each one. Whether they pursue UK registered cars or not I don't know but so far i've never picked up a ticket in my own car and I don't usually hang about when I'm over there.
Hopefully there'll be a cloggie along at some point to confirm or correct my impressions.

It probably was the A4 - although I'd initially started with my non-motorway route before realising I was risking being late for the ferry, so changed to my sat nav. Because of the route I was taking the nearest motorway to join may have been the A5...
I *think* the cameras were Gatsos or similar (rather than average point-to-point) because there were a couple of lines aross each lane in front of each one which I assume are to verify speed readings as with our Gatsos.
