Notice of Intended Prosecution: Late Submission

Purely due to poor admin on my part and mis-remembering when the 28 day deadline was, have returned the above a few days late.

Will plod automatically penalise me for this or is there a few days leeway to account for postage/delivery times?

If not, what's the next step plod takes?

I would have thought the police were willing to wait at least 5 clear working days for postal delays (maybe even longer) and that once you have sent the papers back then especially if you are admitting the offence, they will just go ahead and send the fine and points - far, far easier than arranging court proceedings.

They'll highly unlikely pursue you for a late admission of guilt.

All they want is an admission of guilt from absolutely anyone and it wouldn't make commercial sense to chase you given that you've admitted guilt already.

(NIP is for speeding: 38mph in a 30mph).

Is the code for this offence still SP30?

All correct. Although you may be offered a Speed Awareness Course instead of receiving the points on your licence. Fine is the same amount, give or take.
