Got a gut near men who runs a Chips away franchise

He gets all his kit out ,Gazeboo compressors etc and takes up three parking spaces to work on cars that are worked upon outside his house

Is he authorised to do business in the street,

OK i can understand a quick home visit eepair gut, but his is there several times a week doing it.

Doesn't piss me off at all more that he is beginning to thinkthey are 'his' spots to work in

OK, I worked it out eventually. Try without predictive text.. Back on topic, next time they're free and you don't have to drive the following day, just stick your car in the middle of the 3 spaces.

Fairly sure the Highways Act 1980 will have something in there to prevent this type of business activity. I forget exact wording but its something like you must not place or erect any type of stall on or near the highway without permission and any stall which is deemed to be erected without permission or in a dangerous location can be removed. Stall meaning temporary structure.

I'm confused .. do the men have beer guts .. and is it do with the chips takeaway franchise? In fact what's his beef with the guy - does he just not like a rival business and wants a pizza the action?

Yes, it is not allowed as noted above. If someone went out and set a desk up and started working on a laptop in the middle of it all, they'd think they were a mentalist

I thought the whole point of Chips Away was that they come to you, hence the portable gazebo and gear.
If it's boiling your urine (sounds like it is) and you don't want to speak to the guy directly (sounds like you don't) you could phone/email CA head office to enquire if he's breaching their franchise terms by setting up like that... There are a few fixed workshops (I've seen one in Bedford, near Screwfix) so they presumably wouldn't be impressed with a mobile guy muscling in on their business.

Or, if it isn't causing you and yours any inconvenience you could shrug it off until such time that it does.
