Rainbow zebra crossings.

Are they for some pride event, for use by all, but to highlight LGBT issues.
A number of years ago (Chris Morris with Brasseye was still on the telly, so would that be late 1990s?), many of the crossings for pedestrians around the Canal Street area of Manchester had their colour changed to purple (I presume this wasn't official and was some kind of translucent colour effect sheet over the original green men), which was to give "gay traffic priority"....hmmm. Or just a joke?
Last year (or two years ago), Semens did an officially endorsed version of LBGT symbols for the area.

OT but kind of on the same lines. I used to work for a company whose acronym was HEL. The IT department was based in the Netherlands and sites were called by the HEL acronym and the first few letters of the site location, there was one in a North Lincolnshire town and their acronym was HELS

The unbelievable effort that goes into painting things in rainbow bloody colours, making gay sandwiches and generally poncing about so as not to offend.Yes, by all means, if it makes people happy paint the bloody zebra crossings in pretty colours. but only when you have fixed the sodding great pothole next to it. When London is no longer the stabbing capital of the world when burglaries and thefts are investigated and not given a reference number.
