Untaxed vehicle DVLA sticker

Ok not my vehicle but one of my neighbors has an UNTAXED VEHICLE DO NOT REMOVE sticker on his/hers windshield from the DVLA. Never seen a sticker before had a letter through the post myself once.

Thought it was the police that chased this up?

Vehicle wasn’t clamped so bit pointless just a sticker.

I guess that when you've taxed the vehicle, you can remove the sticker yourself, while a clamp requires an expensive revisit by DVLA operatives. Also avoids the scenario of "I've taxed my car but you can't come round till next Tuesday to remove the clamp!"

If it's got the sticker, it will have had a notice with information on what happens now (i.e. tax it within X days or it'll get towed away) under the wiper, so I presume your neighbour's got that.

was in a local retail car park in peterborough the other week and saw maybe 10 cars all with large yellow stickers on them ! guessed they were part time dealers storing cars in the car park .

Well a car round the corner was clamped for non payment of a loan on the car. I was reading the notice on the window when a guy came up and asked if it was my car. I said no and he said “oh alright” walked back to his van and got back in. Pretty sure he sat there for a least a couple of hours.

I guess DVLA are a bit more lenient.

From the BCH Twitter feed I think that's just Peterborough in general. No tax, insurance, licence etc is the norm!

Time to stop aiming quite that high, and move to somewhere nicer
