Anyone in Police Scotland with fleet knowledge?

I've just agreed to buy an ex-Police Scotland Volvo V70 T6.

Would anyone here have an idea what it would have been used for whilst in service. Neither myself nor the person I'm buying it from would know, but it looks to have had something in the back where you could have stored a box of guns, although around my way they've been using Shoguns and X5s for that role for a while.

Its got bigger than standard front brakes certainly, and had the usual mash up of the dashboard done for all the paraphenalia needed. Curiosity has the better of me with it already though

Have you googled the registration number?

I had an ex police volvo V70 T5 and googled the reg number and a picture of it in ARV livery came up on some weird police vehicle spotters site.

Well that's a good thing indeed and sure enough, there it is on someone's Flickr page.

What would identify it as to its role? Is the bright yellow disc on the windscreen a UK-wide identifier of ARVs? If so, mine was not one.

• edit - found a later photo where its apparently Lothian Roads Police.

Damn I hoped that was a gun rack in the boot! Ha!
