Spanish speeding fine

Mate has just been advised he is a bit of a land rocket. No other details yet

He goes to Spain a lot, so should he ignore and give the the 'Spanish Archer' ( ironic really) and risk it or pay up and stay legit.

And it isn't me, they wanted another 30 euros to put me as an additionzl driver, so i slept most of the way!!

If he visits a lot then pay it. Why would you risk any come back next time he visits? I don't think you can get point's from a Spanish fine?

Here in France I paid up the traditional €50 when I received their letter. No idea if they will pursue you for it but for such a small sum it didn't seem worth the hassle.

Got caught by a Spanish camera last year. Fine was something like €60 and halved if paid quickly and obviously no points. For such a low sum, I just paid it as it’s not worth any potential aggro when I go back.

Avis’ admin charge was more than the fine!

I paid one from Mallorca which was 50 Euros online Came from a Spanish website.
Hire car company (Wiber) didn't charge me anything for dobbing me in and Mallorca is a small island.

I received another notice from northern Spain (Lloret de Mar way) last year. Got charged twice (25 Euros x 2) by the hire car company (Dollar I think) to dob me in as there were two speeding transgressions (gasp).
Oddly, I then only received one notification of speeding, administered from a Netherlands company. Given they the addressed it incorrectly, using the last 3 letters of my 5 letter surname, I decided not to pay it.
Had no trouble in Fuerteventura, twice, since then and am due to holiday in Ronda, next month but since the names don't match, I'm not too worried.

Small sum? That's a full tank of fuel. This is significant, and better off in your tank than in the pocket of the local government officials.

Surely it is a better option to stick two fingers up at the authorities and go on your way, and enjoy that full tank of petrol.
