Let me set the scene, 30mph road, countryside with a few houses set right back, two cars upfront with the first going about 20mph.
The second car overtakes, good on yer son I thought, so now I’m behind the 20mph car.
There’s a long straight so I nip past too, it’s a beautiful overtake, no oncoming traffic and I didn’t have to go over the speed limit because the lead car’s speed had dropped to about 15mph.
Miles up the road, I stop to post a letter and a car pulls alongside in the middle of the road, not the overtakee, some other random fella. He states; There’s a speed camera back there!
Yes, I know.
Well I’ve got you on camera too!
Champion, congratulations. Jumped in the car and pulled away.
I’m so pleased to have got my first “I’ve got you on camera” busybody who felt the need to stop right in the middle of a 40mph road and hold everyone behind him up so he could point out the error of my ways according to his own set of rules.
I can’t wait to see if I’m worthy of UK worst drivers YouTube, if I spot myself, I’ll be sure to post up the link.

If you are on YouTube then don't read the comments - ever, on any post there. Nothing will have you lose faith more in humanity and our self labelled progress as people, than reading comments on YouTube.

I see you have yet to discover the NP&E forum.

I *think* I may have scored a DCW hit this morning myself - again just a bog-standard overtake but this time in an NSL, no breaking of any speed limits required. I didn't get verbal confirmation but the chap was flashing his lights and animatedly pointing to something in his car so I reckon I may have attained dash-cam stardom at last.

I had a woman follow me once and tell me she had me on camera racing. I wasn't. She had cut me up and brake checked me and I was able to pass on the inside.

She explained she was a police officer and I would be reported, she had footage on her mobile. 'Aren't allowed to use your phone while driving love'

I was met with a load of lovely swear words, so I told her to S the F up and F off, she asked me not to swear at her when she has children in the car.

I laughed and she told me she knew where I lived and my car would be set on fire.

Police didn't find it so funny, paid them a visit, confirmed nobody in their household was police-related and warned the male owner about the dangers of roadrage etc, they confirmed to me the wife matched the description I gave to them.

Still waiting for the car to be set on fire, been sat on my drive for years waiting....

This is why every PHer should commit to memory the names of the Chief Constables and PCCs in their vicinity. Cries of "I'm a police officer y'know!" falls flat when they obviously don't have a clue who their chief is, and is a good preamble to the "did you know it's an offence to impersonate a police officer, with the possibility of a prison sentence?" response.

Alternatively, smile and ignore the nutter biggrin

Tell him you also have his mum on camera and ask politely and enthusiastically if he wants to watch (keep straight face).

Usually does the trick.
