Confused about Acquired Rights and CPC

I'm hoping PH can help me understand what categories of vehicles I'm legally permitted to drive commercially.
I passed my UK car and motorcycle tests before 1997, so my UK driving license has long qualified me for all the 'A' (motorcycle) categories, B1, B, C1, D1, BE, C1E, D1E.
With redundancy last year I took advantage of some re-training funds to sit the 35 hours of Driver CPC classroom training to take advantage of acquired rights/grandfather rights. I now have my blue 'Driver Qualification Card', which lists I qualify for categories C1, C, C1E, CE. Note that this includes categories C and CE which do not appear on my driving license.
Am I right in thinking
1. the blue Driver Qualification Card indicates I've completed the Driver CPC training, now entitling me to commercially drive vehicles in categories C1, C1E ?
2. that despite the Driver Qualification Card displaying I have completed Driver CPC training for categories C and CE, that doesn't supercede the fact that my Pink Driving License doesn't qualify me for driving C and CE at all (without going for further driver training and the test.)?
Sorry for the rambling question and now that I've written it I might have answered my own question. I'm just seeking a second opinion on it as what I've found online leaves room for confusion.

You cannot drive C & C+E until you've passed the appropriate driving tests. You will need to pass C before taking C+E.
I would advise you to do both but the money is in C+E although how much will depend where in the country you are based & the demand for drivers in your area.
Been a while since I drove C (through a Leicester agency) but talking to some C+E drivers from out in the countryside whilst waiting to be unloaded I was being paid more per hour than they were.
Your CPC entitles you to drive the vehicles for which you hold a full licence to earn money. When you pass your C & C+E your CPC covers you for them.

Correct on both counts. The DQC shows the holder has taken the required modules for the categories listed. 1. the blue Driver Qualification Card indicates I've completed the Driver CPC training, now entitling me to commercially drive vehicles in categories C1, C1E ?
