Perfectly legal, and exploits a little known loophole in the law. In order for a vehicle to be deemed to be parked in a particular location, one or more of its wheels must be in contact with the surface. I always jack my car up in a similar manner when parking on double yellow lines, disabled bays etc. Never fails.

I've had air-jacks installed to make it much easier. I pretty much park where I like
