Hit & Run while filling up with fuel

Afternoon all, after a bit of advice here.
I was filling up with petrol where the filler is furthest away from the pump so the hose goes over the rear windshield. I was at the rear of 2 pumps.
The car at the pump in front paid and left, and at that point I was knocked off balance by a white VW that had decided to try to get to the space in front.
I was able to stop faliing over by holding the side of my car, the VW mirror was knocked in (by my own body) and I managed to give the door a thump with a fist as it went past.
The VW then lost all interest in getting fuel and couldn't get away quick enough
This was at a supermarket petrol station and after I'd paid, I spotted the the same VW parked parked in a 'hidden' manner (next to a trolley bay in a far corner). I've left a note saying 'thanks for hitting me and driving off without seeing if I was ok. Got your plate & will pass on to police'.
Not in any pain & no visible bruising, but feel a bit stiff. So no obvious injuries but the fact that this
took off once they realised what they'd done, without checking I was ok has really annoyed me. No damage to car, official line from RAC is "Failing to stop after an accident, whether or not someone is hurt or property is damaged, is a criminal offence." Petrol station CCTV should have the whole thing I would have thought.
Should I report it as per note? Or is giving the tosser a couple of sleepness nights over the note enough? Ta muchly.

I’d report it. Not for the initial collision but for driving off afterwards - we all make mistakes but people not taking responsibility for things really winds me up, and anyone who hits a pedestrian then drives off deserves maximum pain in my view.
Are you sure it was the same car? Did you see the driver? I’d ask for the cctv either way.

Can't believe you're even asking the question TBH!
You want to be down the police station raising merry hell to make sure they go and see the twunt in person. Bad enough if they hit a vehicle but hitting a pedestrian and driving off is way beyond writing a snotty note and leaving it on their windscreen!

Hey, lay off those of us who drive around on false plates.Report it.
I speed, safely, because I do 75,000 miles a year on motorways as part of my job and so can't afford to potter on at 70mph but I don't go around knocking over pedestrians in filling stations FFS.
The OPs situation involves scrotes.
Supermarket petrol station will have very good CCTV - they use it for chasing non-payers/drive-offs.
They won't give it to a member of the public, but will give it to the police. Best thing to do is report it to the police, then let the petrol station manager know so that they can copy the recording before it gets wiped/over-written (if the police take a long time to respond).

I've been at football and don't appear to be suffering any effects other than feeling a bit stiff and shaky. It was deffo the same car in the car park. I was 100% sure of the reg. I've checked on the database and it's insured etc so it's not a clone or knock off.
I'm more annoyed about the fact that after being so desperate to get petrol that she was prepared to knock me sideways, she suddenly remembered she she didn't actually need any and had obviously left the oven on at home judging by the speed she took off at. And don't get me started on the feeble attempt to hide by parking in the remotest part of the car park behind one of the ttrolley bays.....

Natural reaction to stop falling backwards. She hit me, knew EXACTLY what she had done & couldn't get away quick enough.
i have no worries. CCTV would bear me out and the speed she took off at.........and having a prostate examination with a nearside mirror.

As said, the garage will have CCTV.
The police may be slow to follow up.
When I had my car hit (better than hitting my then wife who was filling it up at the time) the garage manager initially wouldn't let me see CCTV, only police or insurance company. Neither were interested (the damage was only slightly more than my excess so not worth claiming, and without a claim they wouldn't request the CCTV for me).
I went back to the garage and asked him to at least keep the footage while I tried to work on police and insurance company. The manager then said that the lady who had hit my car had also paid with a stolen credit card. He invited me into his office and while he wasn't allowed to show me the CCTV, it just happened to be playing.
From the CCTV, I had a clear shot of the number plate, with which I requested ownership details from the DVLA. Only they said that plate didn't exist.
So we had hit and run, stolen credit card and false plates, as well as really good CCTV of the car and driver. Police still not interested. At the time I was furious, but looking back I can see with no real plates they had little hope of catching anyone.
