Looking for recommendation for good post-divorce solicitor

Will of course share full details privately, but in summary, it's to change, or ideally terminate a financial court order, and finally allow me a truly clean financial break - the decree absolute and the court order was in 2006.
I'm very much more a lurker than a poster on here, but read enough to know that there are some decent legal types here and am hoping one of you can put me in touch with someone who has direct experience of what I want to do , that will be able to professionally advise me with confidence on what's going to be involved / the likelihood of success, and hopefully get me there.
Recommendations either in this thread or by PM as you feel most appropriate

t their pants .Clients sometimes mistake aggression for effectiveness. I am glad to say that family law is not my bag. The family legal system operates in a silo and is not really part of the mainstream British legal system.

Karma, has however prevailed, as although she got the major part of our assets , has had a nice steady income from me since and I had to effectively start again financially, money, of course, doesn't always bring happiness....

It is indeed most definitely not as simple as that- when I divorced all those years ago, I thought that and particularly as I was the " wronged" half of the marriage got a local (Berkshire) female solicitor- she was well respected, but the OH employed what turned out to be an effective male from EC4 in a nice suit who absolutely ran rings around mine, and I've been living with the result since then My Ex's female solicitor ran rings round my male solicitor. In some ways I agree that a female lawyer representing a female is a lot better .But she has to be a good lawyer in the first place . Why ? Well unless you have been through it .You will be shocked what the lawyer “might advise “ her client to say /claim. I couldn’t imagine a man would want to have that conversation. Its borderline bloody disgusting what can be suggest to be “ claimed” against a man etc . It would make Mumsnet look gentle . I am sure some of you will understand .

100% I would believe .Some I think should end up in court themselves . But in the UK who would you (Breadvan) say are the top 10 Family lawyers That specialise in divorce etc ? I wonder if females hold a strong % ?theboss said:

Yes , all things been equal. But lets say a woman wants a divorce . She finds the 2 best lawyers in the country .One man one lady etc . I think in some cases she will pick the lady as certain things might be easier for her to explain to the lawyer? Its a debate , just throwing it in there . Hers were utter cowboys and mine were superb.
