So what you are saying is, utter rubbish, as it isn’t law yet.

120mph in a new Lamborghini, my old Aston does 100 and it feels like 50, 120 wouldn’t be any issue.

I remember regularly doing 100+ on the Autobahn and people would fly past me, even with children in the car.

Pathetic, the limit has been 70 for decades time to raise in line with the capability of modern cars.

So what ?

At the moment i feel that most times I go out on the road my life is out at risk by others morons not concentrating, on their phones etc etc etc, that I have zero ability to influence. would rather do the above , far safer.

For their size the ability to gather speed and brake is astounding.......I had a run with one down the A505 from Baldock in the summer.

At the speed quoted in the article I thought I was away and it howled by.....and then was very late on the brakes and it just scrubbed it off no drama while I was scrabbling around.

I just arrived back from a 2 hour drive on the Autobahn... I drove at 130 km/h (80ish mph).

In that 2 hours I overtook 1 vehicle, about 250 vehicles overtook me...some at multiples of my speed.

I think that gives you an idea how likely a 80mph limit is.

Sadly drivers in this country havent got the attention span to concentrate on driving at speed or sticking in one lane.

I find just in general the standard of driving in this country.

Ive got to drive darn south tomorrow from Derbyshire to return the MIL and im quite frankly dreading all the idiots im going to encounter.

Well, whatever you are referring to, it’s pretty implausible that something that the German Parliament has set its face against for as long as there have been autobahn, and which was most recently booted out two months ago by said German Parliament has any realistic chance of getting off the ground. Next year, or any time soon.

Doesn't really matter if the car is comfortably capable of driving at 120mph if other drivers are driving with the expectation of closing speeds from other cars doing 70-90mph.
