Motoring Solicitor Recommendations

Hi All ,

I have done some searching but no joy.

Basically I have been captured by a mobile unit at 86mph on a dual carriageway.

Unfortunately I was unaware of the new speeding penalty system or the fact the vehicle I drive should only be doing 60mph(its a double cab pickup) . This now puts me in band B and a possible ban.

Any recommendations in the South would be appreciated. Gatwick/Brighton.

A double cab pickup assuming it’s as per usual is classed as a ‘dual purpose vehicle’ in most instances and has car rather then commercial speed limits

70mph Motorway
70mph Dual Carriageway
60mph Single Carriageway

As such your margin above the limit would be lower and whilst not within 10% + 3mph discretionary margin that seems to be talked about might just change the outcome.

The key is the rear seating, glazing and a weight limit of 2,040kg

I was just about to reply but the above poster has summarised it.

check your Unladen Weight And if is it’s 2040kg or less, and a dual purpose vehicle, normal speed limits should apply.

But if it’s the dual cab in you’re profile, you may be just over.

Unfortunately Its an X350D which is a hefty piece of kit.

This is why the limit has been dropped to 60mph. Which is why I would be into band B.

Whilst I would certainly recommend AGTlaw on here, what do you think you can actually gain from being represented, the whole issue can be dealt with fairly painlessly by post, assuming you have no defence to offer and are pleading guilty I would save the money for the fine.

Don't waste your money.
If you do not get banned having a solicitor you would not have get banned without one.

All you are doing is adding £500- £1000 onto the fine.

The court could not care less if you have a solicitor or not with a guilty plea.

If you want proof go down to the courts and watch defendants who plead guitly without solicitors receiving the same sentence as those with solicitors.

But you won’t get one and nor will a solicitor, you are miles outside the sac guidelines, unfortunately only 1 mph too fast for a fixed penalty but that’s the way it goes. Why not message AGTlaw and I am sure he will explain your options

Thankyou for your constructive input. Given you have no idea what i do or what the vehicle is used for it would be prudent for you to pipe down.

It is a commercial that is laden with tools, tows and gets used everyday as declared. Fortunately I have other vehicles for leisure.
