Access only (for motor vehicles) road - Is parking "access"?

There's no entrance on it to access. No accessible private or public property yet cars are parking here all the time. I wondered if it's enough reason to drive up the road if you're accessing it to park?

That kind of access is for if there is a requirement to be on the road, e.g, live there, delivering or visiting, a casual parking to gain access to go for a walk is not prohibited, that is why it's there to keep excess traffic out. There must be a reason for the prohibition notice, was it once a rat run, or very narrow?

Definitely to prevent rat running between Windsor Road and Sunninghill Road https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4349677,-0.65793...I agree the "policing" of it is probably non-existent but it remains that the sign is there to stop motor access when it isn't actually required, the OP would probably get away with parking up on it to go for a walk, but lack of enforcement doesn't make it ok. If as posted above it is a rat run then hopefully it works and deters most people.
The police say its a meaningless sign.
So as far the police are concerned there is no policing to be done.
My parents have been putting up with it for well over 30 years.
That particular sign seems to be one that local councils put up as a token gesture.

I suppose people could argue they are accessing that one gate for a walk (although they're parking on the road). Most seem to park up and cross over the the major road and enter Windsor Great Park there.
I have no intentions to park there myself but I use the road a lot and always wondered what legitimacy of drivers using it for parking.
