Mate of mine recieved a n.i.p. today for an offence dated 9th December, It says he was doing 87 in a 70.
Is the n.i.p to late.

The registered keeper did receive the NIP within 14 days or whatever the timescale is, as the company is the registered keeper.

They must have identified your friend as the driver and now it has reached him.

I'm sitting talking to him in the pub, his company received the n.i.p. today and showed it to him straight away.

It's a lease company. Cars a .Mercedes don't know the lease company.

The initial NIP has probably gone to Lease/Finance company, who have replied giving the driver's company details (& will probably charge the company an admin fee), who will reply giving his details, then he'll get his NIP.

Seems that the n.i.p. would have been in time but it bounced back and forwards between police, lease company and the company who leased the car.
My mate is resigned to getting three points and a fine!
