Parking Fine Scam

Friend got a moody parking fine from a private land owner with a grainy picture of a vehicle, reg number looked like it had been doctored with a biro and a vague incomplete address of the offence some 200miles away from home having never been there before or since.

He thought to ignore but did write back accordingly. The firm have passed this onto “solicitors” which now threatening to obtain a CCJ against an increased fine.

Doing some background checks this parking firm and solicitors seem to be connected and registered to an address in the Midlands but are proving impossible to connect or indeed talk to.

My friend is a quiet person and isn’t reacting well to being bullied and all the legalities. Police have no interest as it’s a civil matter but the rogue company seem to have found a lucrative and nasty loophole.

They won’t get a “CCJ” straight away. Nobody can just obtain a “CCJ”. If they issue proceedings, defend them with whatever evidence your friend has.

Worth asking the DVLA who they have disclosed his data to also.

Do nothing and then let them issue Court proceedings and get a judgment in default which will fk up your credit record? Great advice dhead.

Well I've been reading this other thread recently OP and it's clear from that thread that these parking companies provide a valuable public service, are completely honest and would never issue threats to you unless you were a cheating sc*mb*g who deserves everything you get.

Sign up to MoneySavingExpert or Pepipoo forums for advice. If you do a search of "Scumbag Parking Court" then you can see how litigious that company is/isn't. Some companies NEVER take people to Court and their threatograms die off. Others are highly litigious. There are many examples of defences on MSE that you can use.

Genuinely honest people like the OP's friend have nothing to fear from parking companies. He was 200 mile away - and can prove it.



If anyone is to blame it is the dishonest parkers (cheating sc*mb*gs) who plague threads like this with nonsense stories about how they have the right to park on private land without buying a ticket. Without those bunch of losers, the rest of us honest drivers wouldn't all have to suffer the existence of parking companies.
