Car vandalised, on CCTV, perps. recognised, police too busy

A local shop keeper's car was vandalised last night, all recorded by their CCTV. They're recognised those responsible as three youths they refused to sell alcohol to recently as they had no I.D. to prove age.

Local police have said they're too busy to deal with it.

That'll get the police round to the shop owners, probably not for the right reasons though!

My O/H happened to be at the shop when they were refused booze. She's very friendly with the shop owners who have shown her the video, she immediately recognised the three and says she could identify them by their tattoos.

Insurance company for the damage and a complaint to the police. They'll need a crime number for the insurance company? If brave how about visiting the parents of said scrotes to inform of the damage caused by the offspawn?

He (i.e.The victim) should complain to the Police crime Commissioner. It's what they're for.

Even if they are busy that actual day or at the time of reporting a crime that has already occurred, they have a duty to investigate it. Being fobbed off as 'too busy' is B/S.

Certain elements of the travelling community are causing a lot of trouble at the moment, the lockdown is basically like letting a child lose in a sweet shop. The Police don't like tackling traveller families unless they've got a big case built up against them, and this may well be why they don't want to know.

No point contacting the local paper, if they can't see it happening outside the office window they don't bother reporting on it.

Before they moved offices to the edge of town their primary source of 'news' was accidents and jams on the roundabout directly outside the office window, they'd even go so far as leaning out and taking photos.

Quite. However they're often found looking on FB for stories which are then copy and pasted on to their website.
