Parking ticket advice

Good evening all been on PH for a while enjoying to chat never had a need to post anything until today. My wife went to collect her dad's prescription from the chemist , parked at rear of the chemist in a car park jointly used by chemist and small shop. Shop was closed and 2 spaces allocated to Chemist were full due to covid19 spacing delaying collection. Upon her return she had a £60 parking ticket on her car. When she looked at the ticket it has wrong registration number on ticket ! . Does she pay it or not ?
Well, assuming she didn't tell them either her name or the correct vehicle details, she may be Ok.
I take it this is a private parking company? As councils have suspended most parking enforcement except for dangerous parking.
So then you're into the usual stuff like signage, compliance with the requirements of the protection of freedoms act 2012
Good luck, given the shutdown I don't think the closed shop owners (or wherever it was she parked) have much of a high ground here.

The answer is in your own post.Firstly, it the PCN has the wrong VRM then it is possible that the parking company will just send of an invoice to the RK of the incorrect car, so not your problem.
If they do realise their error and come after the RK of your car, then I would question the validity of the PCN, if the circumstances are as you describe.
If there is a dedicated car park for the joint use of the chemist and the shop, what does the signage say about any restrictions on which customers can use which spaces?
My starting point for an appeal would be on the basis that the parking was legitimate by a chemist customer in the joint car park that is available for such customers.

Tell them who the PPC is but DO NOT say, mention, infer who was driving not even the dog!! Just say the driver and leave any reference to just that
all it will cost you is your time doing what they say and your the driver ,if you dob them in, lol will be liable......they nay or may not hsver shot themselves in the foot by not complying BY LAW the full instruction as laid down in Sect 9 of POFA 2012

Thanks Pothole wife rang them and told them details incorrect,and if they want payment send correct details . Not feeling that lucky about this one !
Should have kept quiet and let their automated systems pursue the incorrect vehicle reg.Your wife has now put them on notice that they should look at any pictures of the vehicle if they have any.

Where was this car park?What signs were there?
How long was she parked for?
I would probably ignore it as the registration number entered would be the one they contact

Why bother asking on this forum if you act hastily ?
Just a view as I am not an expert in the process but seeing as they have ticketed a car with a different reg to yours, then I would say until they actually contact you for payment that there is no need to do anything.
How different is the reg number to yours and does the ticket have the make of car? (For it is almost impossible the incorrect reg will be the same make of car, too )
As I could imagine this mistake is made somewhat often then the chance of a picture being taken of your plate seems high. But then surely the reg noted on the ticket must be very, very close to yours.

Confused, what’s your point?My nearest chemist has no allotted slots but there are six available right outside the building, as well as two handicap parking spaces and two electric charging points. I’ve lost count how many times the handicap and EV slots have been taken by inconsiderate tossers because they can’t be arsed to walk an extra 50 meters from the main car park. Always an argument when the EV users block in the normal chavs waiting on their pyjama clad girlfriends to collect their repeat prescriptions. Reason I mention this is I’ll bet the same happens to the shopkeeper on a regular basis, hence they have to use a scummy parking company.

The ticket seems to have been placed on the car not "ANPR'd"
Hardly a "scummy parking company" if they are manually ticketing to reduce 'inconsiderate parkers' on their land.
I'm surprised no one has said they should barrier or 'post off' every individual bay to stop this sort of thing happening.
Anyway don't bring EV tossers into it.
You know the type who park in EV bays 'cos they can' and then beggar off without plugging in hogging 'valuable' charging infrastructure.
