I have sympathy though! 79 on a quiet motorway in perfect conditions is a bit salty. He's been driving (too fast) for nearly 2.5 years since passing his test at 17 so i suppose he's lucky in a way

Obviously i didn't remind him I've been driving cars 32 years, trucks 25 and had a 5 year spell on sports bikes and never been done! Lucky bd me.

Anyway, do you think its worth an appeal?

Theres nothing at all to appeal
His was speeding and there's no other factors at play

If he was flashed at this you can bet his Speedo was reading 80+

The weather be good and the roads being Empty does not give you grounds to speed depite what many here may think

You have said yourself he has been driving too fast since he passed his test so hopefully he will get offered a SAC and it will slow him down a bit and increase his awareness.

Really last I checked there's now law that you can speed just because its nice weather

While it's true the court may give lower peneltys does make it legal




I've have no problem with people speeding if they ownup and take the point's fines ect that come with it

It's the ones that come here crying about it and make out it anyone but there own fault

Happens.

I did five years clean, then got 11 points for three offences within the year. Focused the mind on slowing the fu ck down a bit I can tell you and not harm in that .

Yes there is because the poster in question speeds himself. It could have said a few words but then it went into the "moral high ground" mode.

Everyone speeds, but not everyone gets caught speeding.

Of course it's worth an appeal - Take your pick from these grounds:

"It's not fair!"

"I am a driving God!"

"My car is soooo awesome!"

"It'll put me on Santa's naughty list!"

"I wasn't paying attention to my speed at the time!"

"79mph is too low a speed for bragging rights with my mates!"

"BertBert said the Laws on speeding don't count when the sun is out!"

Yeah careful what you say with regards to legal matters around here. Everybody knows to swap your number plate with your mums one when you're drink driving or speeding because she's got no points so she won't get banned if you get done.

Those held in classrooms yes, but not the online ones.
