Well the 'idiot' was another Police driver who should be able to do better in those circumstances. Given they'd hardly got rolling.But as far as liability is concerned, it's an internal incident.

The Jag came very close to hitting the motorbike, as well. However the reality is they dont expect to start and immediately stop. It should have been a clear road for them.But as far as liability is concerned, it's an internal incident.

While even the most highly trained professional can make a mistake, this is the Met's Special Escort Group, it's the SAS of policing.You think they'd let coppers who weren't properly trained to the highest standards to escort the PM?
They operate under a special operating procedure, which involves a rolling roadblock. The proximity between the cars will be a feature, rather than a defect, to stop intrusion by a hostile vehicle.
The protester screwed up the rolling roadblock, and did so with intent to stop the motorcade.

I can imagine there are a few frothing protestors who are now of the opinion the rolling road block can be stopped very easily.

How many times do we get told by the traf pol there's no such thing as an accident, just poor planning, preparation, concentration, not driving to the conditions etc.

I suggest their punishment is not being allowed to drive the fancy cars for a while, plus having some form of humorous poster put up in the station to mock them...

think the met need an urgent review as they need more resources to contain the protestors.
As said SEG run a very close vehicle grouping but they need to have a better controlled road space to avoid not bumping each other.
Also whilst its nice that we have a more relaxed security arrangement around the PM compared
I am glad the chap wasn't hurt, as just think how the left would riot if the police had shot the protestor.
Expect he is bruise as he seems to take the mirror of the police bike before being tackle and the rest of protestors ask for him to be released like he has down nothing!
I mean one black man who is druggie and brutally burgled a pregnant woman dies at the hands of police in the US and the riot and pull down statues in the UK, god knows what they would have used this guys death as an excuse to do over here.
