Wonder what people think of this.
I think the cops made heavy work of explaining of why they pulled him up but good on them for trying to educate pedestrians and not just blame motor vehicles for everything.

king for the way he crossed the road does seem a bit heavy. Certainly didnt need both of them out of the car Well those two prats are certainly getting some stick on Staffs Police facebook page. What was their problem? Absolutely no need for any of that, it was like they were trying to provoke him into an argument. Would they have spoken to an adult like that? Not a chance.
Those two need to get that uniform off, they are not grown up enough to wear it.

+1Impossible to form an objective opinion without seeing the actual incident, though it won't stop people deciding one way or the other.

1. The police officers do not say that he did anything to deliberately provoke them when crossing the road.
2. There does not seem to be any purpose in the way that they allow the situation to drag out.
Although we have not seen the entire story, I think there is enough here to suggest they handled the situation badly.

I know the difference between green and red.
I also know that what he did does not constitute any sort of offence, and despite the lies, or worse, lack of knowledge on behalf of the officers, that they did not have right of way, the pedestrian did.
That doesn't mean he did the right thing in the first place, but it certainly means the officers were wrong.

Pedestrians do not need to obey traffic lights.
As much as I think the officers involved had very large chips on their shoulders (especially the male officer), to be sure his attitude was as dire as it appears we'd need to see what led up to that, e.g. did the officer call the lad over and he ignore him and walk off etc.
Either way though it paints a bad picture for the Police. I struggle to believe this is the best use of of their time.
