Buying from drenth in Holland

Hi peeps
Been in touch with drenth in Holland about getting some gearbox spares
They have sent me a proforma but attached is a sort of binding contract that protects them in every perceivable way and not the consumer, called a ‘’metaalunie’ contract?
Has anyone deal with this before or is it just normal small print bullst?
I’m due to lose a lot of money if it goes Pete tong!!😁

The contractual provisions operate subject to overriding provisions of consumer legislation. The effect of this is that the consumer's position cannot be made less advantageous by the contract than it would have been under the legislation. Also, a choice of law and of jurisdiction clause in the contract may have to give way to the law and jurisdiction of the country where the consumer lives.

NB: The principles above will cease to apply at the end of this year. From then on, if you contract with an EU supplier, you will have to do so on whatever terms the supplier stipulates, and any issues under the contract might have to be dealt with under the law of and by the courts of the supplier's place of business.
