Parking Ticket Appeal

Hi All,
I have received a parking ticket, issued by the local council for an on street parking violation. I will try and post a link via google maps:

Now this small side street has a specific marked out waiting bays for taxi's, and states on the sign next to the parking bay no waiting at any time apart from taxis.
Before that marked out bay, is double yellow lines, which is a popular park up with disabled blue badge holders, as its not far to walk to the shops just behind that street, which is what i was doing. I parked just before the marked out taxi rank, displaying blue badges there, as i have done for years, when i needed to visit that part of town.
I have now been hit for the first time with a parking ticket, which seems strange as i have always parked there and not once received any tickets.
I know double yellows aren't an automatic right to park anywhere as a disabled person, but i have seen others park there as well and again, never a problem.
Do i have grounds for an appeal? I think its a rather unfair ticket, as its in a small side street, not inconveniencing anyone, and no parking rules there have changed recently, so the ticket, was somewhat of a surprise.
If i have to pay, fair enough. its only £35, i thought i would just post here and ask first.

My wife has a blue badge and the legislation I have read states that it is not allowed to park on double yellows with 'no loading' markings (short perpendicular yellow lines on the curb) and ok to park on those that don't have them, so I suggest you check, take some photos and if applicable appeal with reference to the relevant part of legislation.I have received a parking ticket, issued by the local council for an on street parking violation. Nothing about loading or unloading. There is signage applicable to the taxi rank stating no waiting apart from taxi's but no signage other that that applicable to the rest of the road. thank youJames_N said:

Answered your own question, just because other people have been doing it for years and haven't been caught, doesn't make it right.jdizz said:

Where did i say it did? As far as i'm aware, i'm allowed to park on double yellows as long as i'm not causing an obstruction (I wasn't) and as long as there is no other signage dictating otherwise. I'm not saying because others have done it, i'm right but they obviously have the same interpretation of the rules as i do. Not causing an obstruction on double yellows and no other signage = OK to park there?Pica-Pica said:

Badge holders may park on single or double yellow lines for up to 3 hours, but in general not where there are restrictions on loading or unloading – indicated by yellow kerb dashes and / or signs on plates. You may wish to check whether a particular local council has chosen to exempt Blue Badge holders from this restriction.
There is signage relating to the taxi parking bay, but nothing else and i wasn't parked in the taxi parking (obviously!)

Where local schemes apply, such as those that apply in parts of central London, you should check the rules for that area. You are not entitled to park on yellow lines in off-street car parks.
You must display the Blue Badge and the blue parking clock showing the quarter hour period during which you arrived. You must wait for at least one hour after a previous period of parking before you can park the same vehicle in the same road or part of a road on the same day.
Why would you waste your time here asking questions?
The back of the PCN will have details on regarding how to make an appeal. If you were a Blue Badge holder, and it was being used legitimately, and the council acknowledge this, your appeal will be upheld.
If any of that information isn't provided, or isn't available as evidence, I'd get your wallet out and then find somewhere else to park.
