Mobile camera on A64 today

Was driving on the A64 eastbound near York today and the car in front was slowing down so I was going to overtake, when I saw a mobile camera van and decided to break and abandon the overtake as I passed the van.

Although I was still doing just below 70 mph before I braked and abandoned the overtake, I still fear that I will receive a NIP through the post.

Should I be worried?

See camera vans on a64 regularly: they have 3 lay-by and bridge locations they rotate.

On more occasions I can remember I have been in a similar situation, expecting a ticket. Never had a ticket.

If 78 or less real speed you'd have to be unlucky to get a ticket.

If you ever drive on the A64 you can always be guaranteed at least one van will be somewhere I just drive just under the limit on there

Also bare in mind for vans it’s a 60mph limit on there

I've used the A64 quite regularly for the last 18 months and only twice has there not been a camera van. I once went past one with the cruise set at 82 and never got a ticket, it was probably nearer 75 true speed. I just stick to 70 on there now.
