Croatia speeding ticket

Following on from the German one last month (binned) one has arrived from Croatia today, threatening a fine of £400-£2000.
How seriously do I need to take this, can it be binned like the German one?
It’s only asking for driver details now but I do also have a.number of issues with the allegation.
I remember what it was - police with laser outside of a town (middle of nowhere) ergo a 90kph limit - but they say it’s both out of town and a 50 - there was no signage?
Unless it’s easier to just bin it I’m planning on asking:
- For a photo to ID one of the possible drivers
- Photographs of every speed limit sign and their location versus where the camera was
- Device certificates - they say they can be viewed at the station but we obviously can’t do so
Anything more worth asking for while also making this whole thing impossible for them while seeming reasonable if it ever went further. Only good news is the car is still registered in my wife's maiden name and a passport name change is already underway so shouldn’t be linked.
ETA - looking at the letter it was issued on 30th July (but only came today) and has a 15 day deadline for response...

If your deep down desire is to avoid paying, I would personally then not get involved in starting a line of communication, or perhaps return the letter with 'not known at this address'.
The Croatian authorities will simply use whatever legal channels they have to pursue it and I doubt taking them on in court will get you very far unless you have some local expert lawyers. Arguably then much more expensive than paying the fine.

I have no intention of paying this whatsoever - a fine of that scale for doing 96 in a road which was unsigned and should be a 90 (as I thought it was) is ridiculous.
My only question was whether it was worth replying to tie them up in perfectly reasonable requests to look better should they try and enforce anything here - nothing I’ve read so far says they do, especially with Brexit complications, but best to be safe.

If you don’t want to pay, then ignore it and don’t enter into any communication with them. They can’t it enforce it in the UK, but may pass it to a debt collecting co who have absolutely no powers to recover it either and despite what others may say there won’t be armed guards looking for you on every street corner next time you visit

If you get their backs up by arguing and demanding information then human nature dictates they will pursue it with more enthusiasm regardless of whether you are in the right or not.
I'm not familiar with Croatian roads but have driven in plenty of countries where signage is often absent or confusing to outsiders so can appreciate why you'd feel aggrieved. The rule of watching the locals doesn't always help either!

I've fallen foul of Slovenian vignettes, cost me 150 schmeuros. Teach me to listen to my South East European wife.
