NIP received

Morning all,

received a NIP today from my neighbouring country, fair game I was pushing on a little on dual carriage way, missus kid "needed" the toilet, came round a bit of a corner and there's the van.

87 in a 70 so 1 mph over the speed course limit.

I've admitted to them yes it was me, first time offence and a bit of a sorry email. Likely outcome points + fine? don't think the speed is enough for a summons is it?

Upper threshold for FPN is 95 IIRC. If it was a d/c (ie not motorway) should just be 3 point and £100.

Unless the OP goes to court it will be £100.

The clue is it's a fixed penalty. It's fixed at £100 and three points.

I've sent the email wrote them a bit of a sorry, first time offence etc so well see. Lesson learnt, will have had my clean licence 13 years on Saturday as well.

I was caught in June going 57 in a 50. The start prosecuting at, yes, you guessed it, at 57mph.
Wrote a hopeful letter to them. Got a polite but negative response.
Did a Speed Awareness course on Teams - half the length of the old classroom courses, but still the same fee.

Sorry, you are in for a £100 fine and 3 points.
The first minor speeding fine doesn't usually affect your insurance in the UK, so just keep it down now to avoid another one.

Yeh I suspected so, well see what the outcome is but fully expect the points + fine. Lesson learnt in my case.
