Using mobile phone (NZ) - case dismissed.

In court (again) this morning for using a mobil phone whilst driving - TLDR - magistrates dismissed the case.
There is an argument if I was using a mobile phone while driving or not - but that wasn't the issue.
I had elected to defend the charge in court (alleged offence March 2020).
The Police (who prosecute here, NZ) called me at 3.30pm the day before the initial hearing date to check I had had disclosure, to which I said "yes".
A couple of hours later they made further disclosure to my place of work, then just before the hearing started - slipped another court case to me.
After the hearing had started I raised this late disclosure - and the hearing was adjourned until today.
I applied last Friday to dismiss the charge as there had been a "significant procedural failure" without "reasonable excuse"
In court at 10am, the magistrates made a statement which was principally reading out the first third of my application - and dismissed the charge!
I said "thank you" and legged it before anyone changed their minds.
IANAL, and none were involved.
