Motorised Pushbikes

I'm looking to make my 9-10 mile commute a bit more fun.
How difficult would it be to register something like this for use on UK roads?

However, I really just am wondering why you don't just get an e-bike?

Best case you'd end up wearing a motorcycle helmet, attaching a silly-looking full size plate, paying a significant amount for insurance and not being able to use cycle lanes.
Which might all be fine for you, but would push me to an e-bike.

I already have a motorbike, buying a period type helmet wouldn't be a problem, I've probably got one in the attic already. There's no cycle lanes on my way to work, and at my age, insurance costs are insignificant. My 1100cc bike costs less to insure than my dog!
I currently use a pushbike to work in good weather, but I'm getting to the point where I CBA anymore.
I can get an ebike from Halfords, but my original post had the the word "fun" in it.

I ride a vfr or a pushbike. That thing looks to have all the disadvantages of a motorcycle with none of the pluses. But it's not my money.

Wouldn’t be a walk in the park and would need some modifications to the bike.

Why don't you consider a 'Speed Pedelec'? They are a faster version of an electric bicycle, and becoming more popular.
They do around 30mph or more, easily and legally, and are delivered to your house complete with V5 and numberplate etc. Cheap and easy to insure.

Apologies, I didn't mean to sound dismissive.
I realise it's really impractical, but it's a great looking bike imho, and I'd have to go to Rome to collect it.
It would probably end up in the back of the garage with all my other "great ideas"

It looks like you'd get away without MOTing it as it's more than 40 years old. Same goes for VED.

MOT would be where the yearly ballache was, because you can't really take that into an MOT centre!

Insurance, motorcycle helmet, license plate is more manageable, although the question is whether you can find an insurer that will recognize it as a motorcycle. It's not something I've investigated before.

No problem. And it does look lovely. Having to bodge a full size plate onto it would be horrible (if it were mine).
I wish I had a garage big enough to lose something like that in.
