Insurance transferred to new car - old one still on MID

About a month ago we sold my OH's old 4X4 to a trader who just wanted it for the engine and transmission. On the same day the insurance policy was transferred to another car in our 'fleet'.

Checking with MID, the old car is still showing as 'insured' - even though it remains untaxed and without an MoT. I doubt very much that the trader has insured the car in this condition.

The new car does also show as insured - so is this nothing to be concerned about?

Quick call to the insurers should sort things out. When I had my Focus ST, it took a couple of weeks for the insurance to appear on MID. Tunred out there was an extra space in the reg number on the system which it didn't like.

I would say not, but if it's mithering you then give your insurer a call. They won't want to be in the position of being held liable for the car if anything happens.
