Good evening folks, hope you're having a splendid one. I was, until my neighbour brought round some post that had been delivered to his house by mistake, including a NIP.
I got photographed doing 60 in a 40 zone, it's the first time I've ever been done for speeding. What sort of penalty do you think I might be in for?
To pre-empt the arguments: yes I was caught fair and square, no I'm not going to try to weasel out of it, it was a two-lane dual carriageway with a third deceleration lane for a left turn, I was overtaking a slow vehicle in lane 1, no kittens were harmed.

OP - 3 points / £100. You can pay online, but still have to send off the photo card for some bizarre reason. It's relatively painless!

However, I will concede this is a bit odd - the NIP and a bank letter addressed to my wife were delivered to next door. OK, that happens. When my neighbour brought them round he was at pains to point out they had already been opened and not by him. I couldn't see that they had been opened at first, but the right hand edge had been sliced off both envelopes. I believe there are automatic mail opening machines that open mail like that. I've no idea why they were opened. Good job I'm not paranoid.

I am intrigued by the question. No, it was sent by regular post, don't know if first or second class because I've thrown the envelope away. I don't know what difference recorded delivery would make. I haven't got a copy of the Magna Carta displayed in my window either.

Is that like:The "Driving without Insurance" tax?
The "Driving without a licence" tax?
The "Driving without a valid MOT" tax?
The "Driving with excess alcohol" tax?

The "Failing to comply with a road traffic signal" tax?
The "Driving an un-roadworthy vehicle" tax?
Aren't they all actually monetary punishments for breaking the Law?, along with:
The "Theft" tax.
The "Public disorder" tax.
The "Drunk and disorderly" tax.
The "Criminal damage" tax.
The "Threatening behaviour" tax
Etc., etc., etc., etc. ?
