PASTDUE - Debt Recovery
Discussion
Hi,
I was hoping someone maybe able to help/advise.
My parents got letter from the above company.
Addressed to me (never lived there)
No house name or number on the letter.
Saying that PastDue had been appointed by Vodaphone to recover an account balance (238.68)
I had a vodaphone contract maybe 5-7 years ago.
Once that 2 years contacted expired, I cancelled and moved service provider.
My parents are fretting that it might go against their credit score.
I'm slightly perturbed that such a letter should be sent at all.
I'm unable to get an answer when phoning the number on the letter.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Nick.

Legal bods might offer advice, but if the claim is after a defined time period ( six years seems to come to mind), then google "statute barred " letter. I can't find the money forum at moment, but several other money advice forums sport the same letter.
the original forum produced this in relation to the dodgy debt collection firms who would purchase old debts and try to get payment after the time barring came into effect.
