More eBay Disputes

Generally I've been lucky, until now..
I sold a left over bathroom tap I had, new and boxed, accepted an offer just to get it gone on November 28th, posted Dec 1st with Hermes.
Tracking shows it was delivered 3rd December with GPS pindrop of his address as well as the photo that the courier takes. I've street viewed and it's definitely his address
He's now disputing it never turned up, alleging I've misinformed him saying it was sent by royal mail (I've screen shots I've sent him of my eBay clearly.showing Hermes)
He accused me of photoshopping this, I wish I knew how to let alone actually doing it.
He's insisting I refund and he's refusing the evidence I've provided, it's a strange scenario where as he's adamant because his account says royal mail instead of Hermes it's not been sent
He's dismissive of all the photographic evidence I've provided him, it would appear he's a complete idiot !
Maybe someone stole it from his address, I'm more inclined to believe from his mannerisms he's just trying it on.
Any suggestions how to go from here ?
He's only 24 miles away, but has no lawn for frozen sausages unfortunately

Tell him you won't be refunding, and invite him to open a dispute. As long as you give eBay all the evidence, it ought to go your way.
That's the stand I've taken, he opened a dispute before messaging me. He's then proceeded to message me within the dispute and seperately, he's only put certain things in the dispute messages.I've been sure to put it all within the dispute messages as I imagine they are the ones eBay will review !
It's not a large quantity of money, but the principal behind it

"We won't ask you to sign for your parcel. We'll knock on the door and step back, then when you answer we will take a picture of the parcel in your open doorway."
I had a similar situation a few years ago with a fishing reel sold on Ebay. I told him that I suspected theft of the item and would be informing the police and would expect them to question him (this was before I realised that the police wouldn't have bothered with such a petty matter). Never heard another word.
As an aside I had paid for insurance with Hermes, when I informed them of the loss they said the insurance wasn't valid as I hadn't also paid for a signature on delivery! This despite the fact that it wasn't made clear that this was needed when booking the delivery and arranging the insurance and also the fact that the package was indeed signed for on delivery!

Currently dealing with an idiot myself.
Sold 2 model trains, in the title, item condition box, and main listing they were stated as untested, spares or repairs.
Idiot buys both, next thing I know I have a paypal dispute, and £90 held.
He's opened a claim as "they don't work"
I'm about ready to give up eBay.

I ordered two toolkits UK seller
after about 3 weeks of chasing I got one smaller different toolkit
eventually escalated to ebay and got a refund,
seller says post it back and I will refund your postage, yea like I believe him,

Had very similar myself with an iphone, listed as 'spares or repair' as phone doesn't work, a week after delivery the buyer opens a dispute stating...."the phone doesn't work!" Sold 2 model trains, in the title, item condition box, and main listing they were stated as untested, spares or repairs.

Luckily I had already removed the funds from my paypal and removed my bank card.Ebay sided with the buyer and came after me for the money,it then got escalated to their debt collection bods so the cost went up, I wrote and told them I would happily see them in court as I had all the screenshots of the listing etc an also of the buyers feedback (I worked out he was buying phones that didn't work to repair and resell),ebay closed the case along with my ebay account and paypal account. Not missed having either and still get 'buy it now' stuff from ebay as a guest

I think you've been fortunate with that then because to me the photo of the kit on the screen shot was not what you were buying. It says 46 piece and there's a lot more than 46 on there. The photo of what you've got looks about 46 pieces. after about 3 weeks of chasing I got one smaller different toolkit

ETA but you only got one instead of two so should have been refunded that cost.

Yep, you ordered 46 pieces and you got 46 pieces.Although I do agree the picture is misleading.
