Hi all, I tried to cancel a new breakdown policy ( within 4 days of taking it out ) as it wasn't fit for my purpose and they want to give a full refund as per their T&C's they want to deduct their costs for setting up the policy. . . is this correct?

That they can.

Surely I have consumer rights of a 14 day cooling off period as the link from CAB suggests or does any business T&C's over-ride the law?

A company with a very short abreviation didn't even refund when the policy holder died within a few weeks of a new year.
