Keep reading issues with people getting low offers from their insurance companies where car gap has been written off. Just wondered whether this has subsequently raised issues with companies offering GAP insurance?

Purely interested in outstanding claim although I have GAP insurance and wondered if anyone has had a kickback/ dispute due to their primary insurance company valuations being low resulting in larger claim on GAP insurance?

It would be usual to notify your GAP insurer of the total loss at the earliest opportunity and let them engage with your motor insurer over the valuation.

GAP will endeavour that the car owner/insured get as good an offer as possible as it’s in there interest to minimise the difference between the offer and the value on the policy.
