Shipping Costs Changed When Placing Order

As I often do, I ordered 3 bits of tat on Ali Express for a total of £11.27 with free shipping, and as per Brexit it added 20% VAT on the total. However, when the invoice came through it had charged me £13.40 tax and a whopping £55.71 shipping!

Now I know what you're thinking, I must have picked this option because it is there. But there was absolutely no way I did as I would have never ordered it. In fact, to do so you would have to go to a drop down menu on the checkout and deliberately select it so can't be done by accident. Somehow it changed to a different shipping method after placing the order. Package has been dispatched via FedEx and the seller isn't interested. Is there anything I can do to dispute the charges, or refuse the shipment?

You select the shipping method and are presented with the total before you pay, it doesn't change on it's own.

Normally with Aliexpress, you can cancel the order if it hasn't been shipped yet (even though it shows the shipping cost).
I've not cancelled many, but every single cancel I've requested has been granted.

I think I also found when it realises you're shipping to the UK its recently started changing the shipping/sender location to a European/UK orientated warehouse for many of the orders without asking, basically since the 20% VAT was enforced by them. Its actually often cheaper to find the bits you need on Amazon etc now.
