Car collection vandalised

An article from my local paper.

Must admit, drilling holes in the bodywork is not something I've heard of before.


So basically the fella owns six cars including a VW Beetle, BMW 335D, Audi S4 and Audi S8. As well as drilling holes in the cars, there were 26 tyres punctured and windows smashed.

Damage estimated at £80,000 and the chap says 'they have destroyed my pension'.

Unusual story for me - 1. relatively rural low crime area. 2. clearly not some random attack. 3.no insurance? even if kept off the road, surely you wouldn't take the chance.

he had the bare faced cheek to say the MX5 wasn't the best open top sports car on a budget.

If so, he's not 'lost his pension' at all - seems strange to 'invest' your pension in mostly depreciating assets.

I'm not sure if in twenty years time that a handful of mediocre cars left exposed to the elements would fund a particularly long retirement...

Also 6 cars and 26 tyres....

Something doesn't add up here.

He had a 335d, presumably mapped. I assume he has been getting his investment advice from PH as this is a certain future classic...

I agree he has pissed someone off, this isn't just general vandalism. But what a lame collection of bangers, they'll be worth sod all in five years time if they aren't already. Not that it excuses the damage in any way.

Its a Bedford CF Van. The article also mentions a Mercedes Sprinter which is correct, so presumably he has two vans, but there are no photos of the Merc, and whoever has captioned the photos has got confused between the two.
