I was removed from a thread after debating with Breadvan72 (Barrister) for debating distance travelled for exercise and arguing reasonable excuse. Clearly I cannot reply so can we look at how things have changed.
Some of my posts.
When legislation is drafted its subject to a multitude of legal precedent and stated cases. In this case it would be quite rightly argued that taking exercise 170 miles from Coventry isn't a reasonable excuse under S6 part (b) of the act.
Claiming exercise by travelling from Cornwall to Berwick isn't reasonable.
Its not a reasonable excuse to travel 170 miles for exercise or your scenario of Berwick to Cornwall. Any future judgements (if they happen ) will be based on reasonable excuse. Cov to Durdle Door isn't reasonable

FFS, for the 97 MILLIONTH time, the legislation does NOT contain anything about locality. There was no mis-drafting. There is no ambiguity.
In England, there is NO LOCAL AREA RULE.
Ignore the plastic Stasi, who now reveals himself as the bitter Nimby that he is. Do whatever you wish that is within the law. (aimed at me )
Yet today we see a change from our leaned friend Breadvan72
I'm going to plump for that being an unreasonable thing for the dog walker to do. Reasonableness is a very broad thing, but not infinite in breadth.
There is no clear bright line such as a distance from home at which you are will be to no good (I am talking about England - the rules differ in Scotland), but a court can assess reasonableness as, using the sort of language favoured by Judges, as a matter of fact and degree.
I regret that there exist legal limitations on people doing ordinary stuff, but there are some limitations, although the limitations are less extensive than the Government, media and police claim, and less extensive than the PH Gauleiters would like them to be.
You need a reasonable excuse to go out and to stay out.
So what exactly is happening here?....our learned friend getting wind something is up ! 'Reasonableness is a very broad thing'- suddenly. Can we travel from Berwick to Lands End to walk the dog ?
