Are these speed cameras...?

This is NOT a "have I been caught speeding and do I need to worry for 14 days" post. Just a curiosity post.
Have passed these a couple of times and there are 2 'pairs' of them about 3/4 mile apart on opposite sides of the road.
Never seen any cameras like them and Google isn't much help.
Someone on Waze has flagged them as being 'Police(hidden)'.
These are a few of 'blurry' screengrabs from my dashcam (sorry caaameeeruh)...!! (oh and btw, knowing what P/H is like, before someone comments about me doing 39mph in a 60 (for a car) limit, there was no one else around and I slowed down to give the dashcam a better chance of capturing the image - though not 100% successfully, obviously)...
Could be nothing to do with speed and may be 'homemade' speed deterrents.

Clearly someone on Waze (also) thought they might be speed cameras, too.

So it's there to keep an eye on the gates (the ones with the concrete things in front!) and to see if any 'do as you likeys' decide to make camp in the field?

a camera won't stop "do as you likeys". They dont care if filmed committing criminal damage to gain access as it will still be "not in the public interest" to send cops wading in for an arrest.

Isn't that a bit pointless, as they'll be aimed groundwards before anything incriminating happens, surely?

I've seen these at building sites - I had assumed they were some sort of Auto-Walt camera device, a bit like a pound shop Dalek really!

Sadly this is very true. There seem to be lots of activities relating to our travelling chums that are, according to the Police "not in the public interest" to pursue. It's a bit galling to have limits imposed on us during this lockdown period, with funerals being a case in point, only to see things like this like this where not only do the Police turn a blind eye, but they actively marshal it. You can bet if that was Mrs Miggins having a funeral with 31 in attendance the Police would come down on them with a fine or other penalty.

I've seen them at remote Environment Agency depots where they have their tools and plant stolen by the quaint folk that do such things.

No matter how secure the depots are made they still get unwanted nightly visits.
