If the learner was driving and had an accident, it will become reportable to insurance. This might change the premium but I would hope being a learner would be taken into consideration.

If the learner driver has his own "Marmalade" style learner policy, why were the main insurers of the car informed. That's the whole damn point of a stand alone learner policy, to have a wall of separation between the two.

Advising the main insurers of the car might well lead to a world of pain.

If so, pass this to the insurer to make a claim against.
