Explain this parking sign?

Right how does this read?

Parking - cars only, can park between midnight and 9am between march 1st and 31st october. No restrictions outside of those months.

Or

Car parking no restrictions, other vehicles can park between midnight and 9am, between the months of 1st March and 31st October. No restrictions outside of those months.

Seems pretty stupid I can't get my head around it. So can someone more worthy explain.

At a guess: only cars are allowed to park between midnight and 9am during the summer. It'll be there to stop campervans from overnighting there.

But I agree it's a really unclear sign.

Parking for motor cars only during the controlled hours/dates stated, i.e. no campers or commercials to be parked overnight in summer.

It means no parking of any vehicle between those times, probably to stop caravans and motor homes over nighting.

That's my interpretation.

I'm with this as the correct answer personally.

It's not the clearest sign, but this answer makes the most sense. I'm guessing to stop Winnebagos and campervans and the like from parking in the nicer weather months.

People don't seem to be able to understand the bus lane signs in London, and I think they're pretty clear, so I don't think anyone is going to understand that sign, as it's really not very clear.

No parking of any vehicles between 31st October and 1st March, then cars only between 9am and midnight from 1st March to 31st October.

Similar signs used at Esplanade above Fistral beach to deter overnight Camper vans some with legacy "Camping cooking or overnight sleeping prohibited" signs almost still intact...

I think we all know what the authority responsible was trying to achieve but they have failed miserably!

My view is they are trying to stop campervans parking overnight. However the sign shows it is a parking area for ONLY cars and ONLY between the time dates shown and not at any other time. I doubt that was the intention.
