The irony of the local driving gods getting caught on a hoon hasn't escaped me, but they stole that car and should have been prosecuted for TWOC.

Especially stupid and galling given the amount of resentment at the excess of speed policing in relation to other police duties.
h about how it wasn't a true high performance car. It's the sheer hypocrisy of it that absolutely gets me. We get countless patronising traffic officers droning on about how dangerous it is to speed, yet these arrogant clowns thought it was ok to hoon around in someone else's performance car while being part of the same "road safety campaign" and film themselves doing it.

The good thing is they can't get employed as police officers in England and Wales again. So even without prosecution they've made their lives a lot harder now if they can't get gainful employment. I would like to see them prosecuted as well to make sure other members of the police realise they are not immune to prosecution. I guess the good coppers know this, the ones that are as stupid as these two probably think they are above the law. They should be both be prosecuted

What's irritating is that they will get well paid jobs, in fact probably better pay than they're getting as PCs. A DC who was sacked following a fairly minor infringement, but lied to conceal it, was taken on by a well-known credit card company in their investigation team. Don't ask me why.The police are well aware of their liability to prosecution. It is well documented that the CPS will, for whatever reason, charge police officers with a lower level of evidence than for other members of the public. Many examples are available. You only have to ask.
