HELP ME ... A KID THREW A ROCK AT MY CAR!!

So today I was driving along a long stretch of a residential road and out of the blue I hear a loud THUD as I’m driving , so I look around and see this kid bolt off so I pull over and whilst I’m inspecting the dent , two more kids approach me and tell me that they know who just did it and told me his name and his school and they said he’s been doing it too several people for the last couple of days or so , now these kids were not involved so I don’t want to get them into trouble ... they told me they were sorry as that person is truly nasty ... but the situation is very difficult as I don’t want to blast on social media ie Facebook as I don’t think it is fair on the parents as they could have only raise their kid as best they could but I also want to get the damage fixed as it’s a massive dent, but then I don’t want to Shane the parents when the kid is the one who did it

Overall I just think that the kid should pay for the damage but at the same time the parents will end up paying for it and urgh I don’t want the parents too suffer for his mistake ... URGH I’m very split between two ideas so please help guys..

Contact the school. Tell them what happened. Assuming it’s genuine and not just trolling

The kid ain’t gonna be able to pay for the damage, so parents need to pay. I agree if he’s doing it regularly it needs reporting to school.

In terms of the damage being repaired it’s going to be out of your pocket or the parents pocket.

Happened to me once, they smashed the window of a following car. I called the police. Not long after got a call back to say thanks for calling it in, perps were caught, did not need to give statement etc so not sure what happened to them.

If you have a name and the kid is known for being a nasty then they are likely to be known to the police and I expect they would have a word.

A kid nicked my Raleigh chopper in 1978 in Hammett Rd I was fuming and so know how it feels .

As soon as I spotted him with his hands on my chopper I went over to give him some smoke
