Hit by a car whilst out running - what to do

In a bid to stop being a lazy fat knacker I started running again a few months back been going well, used to run all the time and just getting back into it after years off.
Yesterday however and got hit by a car was a bit surreal. Not sure if to lawyer up and notify her insurance or let it go as ***t happens. But welcome views on approach to take if the injuries are worse that I first feared. Hopefully not as anything for a quiet life but work from myself and rely on my shoulder for various things ;-)
The scenario was;
Running on a usual road, we are rural so pavements limited, however run in a sensible fashion. Only in good light, very bright colours, facing traffic, considerate etc.
This road plenty wide enough and great vision. A row of cars all saw me and pulled out slightly, on that section you actually run inside a solid white line for no stopping. I clocked a silver car coming at the back of a row of cars as it was tucked right into the line / bank and I thought she isn't looking up she hasn't seen me. As she got within a few feet jumped in (all in slow motion) as far as I could but was up against bank and wall and she still hit me at circa 30 mph.
Thankfully its a 30 zone (most do a bit faster as use to be a 60) and impact was just my arm / shoulder on her window upright and wing mirror massive thud bent in etc.
Initially she didn't stop a car in front saw what happened a stopped which slowed her down, so I gave chase and she turned around and pulled in promptly crashing into a another bank.
Was an old biffer (80 plus) I was in a bit of shock but started videoing to get her reg plate and its fair to say for 20 seconds I gave her some verbal abuse pointing out that she nearly killed me, shouldn't be driving and had crashed again. Not sure she has been called a ***t that many times in 20 seconds. Only plus side is my family seem to find that video hilarious.
I thought I was fine and usual bloke ill be fine kicked in but after the adrenaline wore off, still in a bit of shock last night, arm actually really hurt, and shoulder is knackered I think.
Was reported to police as the lady shouldn't really be driving as will kill someone, her car was dented on every panel and she was very old and either stoned or just not really with it. Haven't heard anything since I reported it but they said they were going to send someone to have a word (after initial call handler saying this isn't a police matter).
Treadmill from now on I think!!

If it was me, I would harass the police and make a complaint if necessary, until they throw the book at her. Not a Police matter? What the actual f
k sort of matter do they think a car hitting a pedestrian then attempting to drive off is exactly?
Then, when they have thrown the book at her, they can throw some more at her.
This sort of thing pisses me right off. Both the way some drivers try to brush off accidents and st driving, and also the way the Police can't be arsed to get themselves involved in anything that might be remotely difficult.
What if it had been a woman pushing a pram, instead of someone who could have thrown themselves into the hedge? She's a fking liability by the sounds of it, and needs her licence ripping up.
I've seen this time and time again with the elderly, they are pretty much the worst age group for trying to claim that an accident wasn't their fault, or that the car malfunctioned, or that the other party is exaggerating, and its "Just a car" or "just a scrape" or "I hardly even touched you" when half their fking car is missing.
I've lost count of the times that someone elderly has destroyed a wall, hit someone, or crashed through a garage/house before claiming "It wasn't my fault, the car just suddenly shot forward while I was pressing the brake" or "He must have come out of nowhere far too fast because I didn't see him".
I'm sure you can tell that I was nearly killed on a motorbike by some old 84 year old who pulled out of a junction in front of me, and claimed they didn't see me and that I "must have been absolutely flying" when in fact I was doing 50 in a 60 and riding carefully.

Glad its not worse for you OP but get it actioned. Solid white line means no crossing it, she was over it so plod need to do her for that too.
I got told off by plod a while ago for riding my push bike inside the solid white lined bit on the side of the road. Told that as a road user I should be on the carriageway. Even though I thought it was safer to ride the main a30 as far left as I could get.
Get to the Dr/A&E there could be a fracture/bone chip you are not aware.
Inform the police and get a crime ref number.
When older I’d wager you’ll suffer aches in those joints - for life.
Claim against her insurance for medical treatment & go private / to you are likely needing to anyway as NHS waiting list post covid is gopping

Cheers all, I agree sadly people seem to bash the wrong people but the most dangerous people are the elderly and the school run mums based on my experience.
Got her name and reg. Good idea on ask mid, I will do that and call them tmrw as like you say I bet she didnt report it.
I also got her apologising and saying something like "I couldn't move out due to cars behind me". I lost my st somewhat its a fairly expletive laden rant so I best not upload as every other word is an expletive.
Thankfully have private healthcare due to our local surgery being beyond poor so have an appt with a physio on Friday am.
Not really interested in compo as not my way. Recently got rear ended and whiplash vultures circled and declined but defo want her off the road as my kids walk local roads and there is a rural kids bus stop 50 yards away.
I will chase up police and see what options I have to complain and perhaps find a way to try and press some sort of charges. I to was dismayed at the first call handlers response, 2nd person was much more helpful and I have an incident number etc.
Oh and to be clear not dents from this incident scrapes and scratches from other incidents I assume so I unpolitely pointed that out to her!!

I just did it to make sure I can follow up first thing, I had to pay £4.50 and it told me who the policy was with and their number to call to report the incident etc.So it cost me but at least I can report it now.

A less persistent/intelligent person might well have taken being totally fobbed off and assumed nothing could be done. Its a very good shout actually you are quire right I have just been onto the A&S website and filled in their webform. A. asking what action they intended to take now, with ref details etc.
B. Also with some feedback on their 101 service.
In hindsight I should have probably made a meal of it on the scene and police would have come out. And ambulance I suspect and probably got some traction but I was literally half a mile from home and I wasn't really thinking straight I don't think and thought I was ok. Adrenaline a funny thing.

It was def 25 - 30 the cars on that road all do 30 or more and she was following the flow of all cars in front, no attempt to slow or stop as she didn't see me. Agreed direct hit serious injuries at least. That's what sunk in since, was very very lucky. Saving grace a glancing blow not a direct hit as such and I was able to roll body. Was hard enough to smash her wing mirror glass out as its smacked back against the car and crack her mirror casing (assuming she hadn't already done that!). Glancing off the A pillar is what knackerd the shoulder I think.
Thanks for the feedback / suggestions all really useful. I will update on what the police end up doing and what her insurance company say .... and what the Physio and scan says. Lets hope she just volunteers her licence back to the DVLA.

Those words really wind me up. I will admit to getting mildly irritated by cyclists when I’m in a hurry, but ultimately they need to be given plenty of space so if there isn’t room to do that I have to slow down and wait behind them, however long it takes.
It’s the same with this woman. She could’ve slowed to a crawl until it was safe to give you a wide berth. Too many people get locked in to the mindset that your absolutely must keep travelling forwards at their current speed or barely less, because they feel implied pressure from vehicles behind. Slowing down considerably or even stopping doesn’t enter their mind. What are the cars being going to do? They have to deal with it, it’s just the way it is.
Definitely get checked out. You could easily have broken a rib or two, or done some damage to your shoulder.
To be honest this is one of those few occasions where I’d struggle to call this an accident. She weighed up the choice between slowing down and passing when it was safe against hitting you or at the very least putting you in grave danger, and chose the latter - madness.
