Hi guys after a bit of advice. I purchased a Samsung PC Monitor September 2019 from Amazon which has developed a fault. Looking at the reviews now on Amazon it appears that many of the monitors develop the same fault after a certain time.

It has a 2 year warranty but actually claiming on it is proving very difficult.

The initial diagnosis and booking the claim with Samsung was relatively painless they said I would be contacted within 48hrs by the courier.

After hearing nothing for a week I was back on chat to Samsung who gave me the email address of the courier who actually turns out to be a Samsung authorized repairer.

Sent the repairer 3 emails over 2 weeks and not heard a peep also been back onto Samsung who just repeat I need to contact the repairer !

Could I insist Amazon deal with it after 21 months or will they just say contact Samsung ?

Definitely Amazon first, not least to get the within 2 years time frame logged.
I have ordered two things by on line recently, one wrong description, the other faulty. Annoying, but both companies have acknowledged and have refunded.

As others have said Amazon usually have rather good customer service levels so I’d try them. Never quibbled if I’ve had a rare problem.

Your contract is with Amazon, not Samsung.

Usually they will ask you to contact Samsung but you can refuse as Amazon is the retailer.

I'd speak to Amazon and tell them Samsung aren't been helpful so you'd like them to deal with

Only issue I have had with Amazon is when I purchased through Amazon Marketplace and not Amazon directly, it was a set of books which were never delivered and the seller did not respond to messages.
Amazon have an "A-Z guarantee" on Marketplace transactions but it took me nearly a month to get a claim through on it, it has put me off Amazon Marketplace.
