Specialist Legal representation for Speeding case

Before I start i want to stress that i am not condoning this situation but a mate who's had a tough time got caught speeding yesterday at 120mph on the motorway. He is looking for some specialist legal representation. Does anybody have any recommendations? he is south coast based. thanks

Pronounce it how you like, he’s not condoning the speed but adding in they’ve had a tough time. Guess what, having a tough time has no link to driving at a speed that marks this friend out as a tt

I’m not sure whether the OP is saying the tough time is an “excuse” for the speeding, or whether it’s “as well as”.

Plenty of sections of the UK motorway with very long sight lines - where 120 for a short burst on a clear road, in an appropriate car, would be:

1) Yes, illegal
2) Not putting anyone other than the the driver in material danger

So maybe separate the legality of the action from the automatic assessment that he has actually put anyone in danger.

Possibly but have we done it, got caught then trying to not to take responsibility for the actions? The law is pretty clear whatever the "tough time" the "friend" has had.

Who's saying he's not taking responsibilities for his actions?? Ill hazard a guess he wants it to be as painless as possible.
In a world where the justice system really does beggar belief at times I hope this lapse of concentration and speeding offence gets a light punishment... unless of course he was weaving in and out of traffic at 120 on a busy motorway!
None of us know the scenario.

Well for most when some starts saying hard time etc you know they are trying to deflect, and I am pretty sure driving at 120mph there isn't much if all you can say to really better just take fine and ban like a real man or women, at that speed will be an instant Ban plus fine.

By definition it is not an instant ban.

There may be mitigations which need the correct plea.

The thing is how much would all this cost because top level specialist advice, 10k...? If this value is less than your cost then knock yourself out, but for most being caught at that speed is a done deal.
